No guessing. No chasing. No silence.
How Civility Home care works
-

Understand
UK-standard assessment
We begin with a structured assessment based on UK care models to understand needs, risks, routines, medication and expectations.
This creates a clear, shared understanding of what safe, realistic care looks like — before any care is put in place.
-

Set up care
Care plan + matching
We create a personalised care plan and confirm a clear quotation — with no vague descriptions or hidden charges.
We then match the right carers and brief them on the care plan, routines, preferences and what matters to the person, with oversight from a local care manager.
-

Review
Ongoing oversight and quality review
Care is monitored, reviewed and adjusted over time. Feedback is encouraged and concerns are addressed early — clinically or relationally.
This ensures care stays safe, consistent and accountable.
We might be a good fit if:
✔ You want more than task-based care — you value clear standards and professional practice
✔ You care about how carers communicate, behave and represent your service
✔ You want clear systems and visibility, not guesswork
✔ You’re supporting people with complexity, including dementia or cognitive change
✔ You value a provider willing to be transparent and held accountable
We might not be the right fit if:
✖ You’re looking purely for the lowest-cost option
If you’re not sure, we’re happy to talk openly and help you decide what’s best, even if that’s not us.

About Lauri - Founder of Civility Home Care & The Civility Gap
I’m Lauri Smith, and my work has always centred on one core question:
How does care feel to the people who rely on it the most?
After nearly a decade in the UK care sector, as a Registered Manager, Senior Operations Manager and Regional Director, I’ve seen care at its best, and at its most damaging.
I’ve witnessed moments of deep compassion that change lives.
And I’ve seen how pressure, poor communication and broken systems can cause distress that should never happen.
Those experiences shaped a clear belief:
care must be calm, dignifying, emotionally safe, and well-structured.
That belief led me to create The Civility Gap, a communication and behaviour framework that teaches carers how to deliver not just competent care, but humane care.
Civility Home Care is where that model is put into practice, through systems, training and oversight that support both people and professionals.
